Bakersfield is hot and dusty, and it's not the most beautiful or original piece of dirt out in the west - but it's where we live. bakersfield has been known for many things musically over the years - buck owens, merle haggard, and mosrite guitars. and yes, even korn is from bakersfield (mostly).
As it stands, the town's music scene is divided to say the least. a collaborative music project, the had and been seeks to draw from bakersfield's broad musical talents, pulling musicians from the bluegrass, rock, jazz, punk, classical and country scenes - the cumulative affect is what you hear on the had and been's debut album, "We Are the Ones."
Considering the many musicians, and their varying schedules, a performance by the had and been may have anywhere from one to 12 musicians in attendance - you can expect to see singer/songwriter Chris Truitt, six string in hand, at every show.
